I turned my old PC into a server. I put all of my movies, music, and shows I've collected on there. I call it 'Zekflix'. It can be accessed by anyone via a service called Plex. This service is similar to popular streaming services, except it is free and adless.
Plex is used like a streaming service too, there's applications for most TVs and devices and a web version. An account is needed. Plex has its own content, which you see when you first login. However, to see Zekflix, you need to request access on Plex. |
We host an extensive amount of media we've collected physically from second hand stores. If you'd like to request something, feel free to do so. We have a collection of music (About 50% organized at the moment). About 1/3 of our movies are Japanese, and I'm working on collecting every Dogme 95 film. There are some pretty rare films, including ones we've had to import internationally and some that are not available anywhere else on the internet. Unfortunately Plex does not support book or magazine scans, but you can find those elsewhere on my page. |
First, go to Plex's website and create an account. Afterwards, send me the username or email on the account. When you do this, let me know if you'd like access to the NSFL films (e.g. Pink Eiga and Salo).
Once I authorize it, you'll get an email to the account address and a notification on Plex. Both contain the link to join the server. Now, when you login to Plex, you'll see a 'More' tab under all of the Plex content tabs. Click that to open all of the server content. You can unpin the Plex tabs.
